U.S. Virgin Islanders Have Until January 8 to Register for Disaster Assistance
ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands – U.S. Virgin Islanders affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria now have
until January 8, 2018 to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The registration deadline has been extended for individuals and families affected by the hurricanes to apply for grants for rental assistance, essential home repairs, personal property losses and other serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance. FEMA encourages every one affected by the hurricanes to register for assistance.
Survivors with connectivity may register at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. Individuals who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY should call 800-462-7585 directly. Operators are standing by to assist survivors in multiple languages.
