The Virgin Islands Department of Education announces that both the St. Thomas-St. John (STTJ) and St. Croix (STX) District 2018 Intermediate Spelling Bees will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

The STTJ District Bee will be held at the Ruth E. Thomas Auditorium on the grounds of the Charlotte Amalie High School at 9:00 a.m. and the St. Croix District Bee will be held at the Juanita Gardine Elementary School auditorium, also at 9:00 a.m.

The annual Bees will feature a total of 32 students competing across the territory from public, private and parochial schools: 18 in the STTJ District and 14 in St. Croix.

The Department welcomes family, friends and the community to support the fourth through eighth graders as they compete to be named 2018 District Spelling Bee champ. The winners, along with the top five finishers in each district, will advance to the territorial competition on March 27 in St. Thomas.
