In an effort to mitigate fraudulent checks, The Department of Finance implemented a new check verification process, “Positive Pay”, on Friday January 26th, 2018. The process identified eighty-one (81) payroll related checks with anomalies. However, an issue was experienced during the approval process, which negatively impacted the successful completion and transmittal.

Affected vendors and government employees are advised to redeposit those checks with their respective financial institutions.

The Department of Finance sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.
