The Virgin Islands Department of Hum a Services recently received approval from the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) on its request for an extension of the hot food waiver.  The department previously received waiver extensions on hot food pertaining to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) twice since Hurricanes Irma and Maria. To continue to address the nutrition needs of Virgin Islands residents, the Department of Human Services further advises that hot meals may continue to be purchased with Electronic Benefit Transfer cards until February 12, 2018.
